Spoiler Alert: The Academy is mostly white, male, old and non-winners.
but you know, it’s anyone’s game.
And now the nominees for Best Animal Actor in a film:
and the Oscar goes too…
Meryl Streep.
it was alright. I thought James had some moments. Anne Hathaway did what she could do, but I wasn’t really blown away by either.
from the start it all seemed a lot more like the MTV movie awards, which I enjoy when watching the MTV Movie Awards, but I expect class from the oscars. The vibe when Billy Crystal was on stage was exactly what I normally want. While the autotune and Franco in drag was fun, it was a bit of a step down from that class. I was intrigued by the attempt to make it reach out to a younger audience, but I think what attracted to the awards and the profession was the class I saw in the Oscars years ago.
Tonight was fun at parts. Some good moments. but I think they went too young. I laugh more when there is an expectation of grace and charm and someone makes a joke than I would when seeing a man in a dress make that same joke.
it was a fun experiment, but I gladly welcome someone over 35 to the stage.

now then, back to my life.
